George G. Burgoyne, age 80, of Grants Pass, died Monday, August 10, 2015 at Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

George was born on November 17, 1934 in Gooding, Idaho to Joseph & Effie Burgoyne. He grew up in Gooding and attended school there. In the early 1950’s he worked as a trucker for Garrett Freightlines in Twin Falls, Idaho. On September 5, 1955 in Kimberly, Idaho he married Virginia Lee Thomas. He enlisted and served in the United States Army. After being honorably discharged he returned to Idaho and continued his reserve duties. He later moved to Pocatello, Idaho then to St. Helens, Oregon. Seventeen years ago he moved from Littleton, Colorado to Grants Pass.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
George especially loved playing with his grandchildren and spending time with his family. He was very much a family man and adored his grandchildren. George also enjoyed travel.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Burgoyne of Grants Pass; a son and a daughter; six granddaughters and three great-grandsons.
A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 22, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center on Williams Highway
