Gary Lynn Lilla

Gary Lynn Lilla, age 70, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Three Rivers Medical Center.

No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Gary was born on August 14, 1943 in Long Beach, California to Doc Lilla & Violet (Weir) Lilla. In August of 1943 he moved to Grants Pass and later attended elementary and Jr. High School. He moved to Southern California for one and a half years, then moved back to Grants Pass and graduated from Grants Pass High School, Class of 1962. Gary joined the United States Navy in 1963 and retired an E8 in 1984. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran and came home from Vietnam on the last plane. In 1963 Gary met Janis Stuart and in 1965 and they were married. They lived in Hawaii, London, England and San Diego. They were married until 1984. In the late 1980’s he married Eldine Olds and they were married for 10 years. He lived in Roseburg and returned to Grants Pass in 2012.

His hobbies included fishing, playing poker and during the 1990’s he enjoyed driving his motorhome around the Western United States.

Survivors include his former spouses, Janis D. Stuart and Dina Lilla; two daughters, Kammi Lee Lilla-Bare and Shannan Diane Lilla; five grandchildren, Joshua Spencer, Willy Spencer, Kassy Spencer, Charlee Rose Lilla-Bare and Wyatt Lilla-Bare; and five sisters.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents
