Gary L. Snyder

Gary L. Snyder, age 68, of Williams, Oregon died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at his home.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Gary was born January 2, 1945 in Long Beach, California to Sammy & Merice Snyder. In 1945, together with his family, they moved to Grants Pass where he was raised. He graduated from Grants Pass High School, Class of 1963. In 1963 he enlisted in the United States Navy and was discharged in 1971. For many years he worked as a body and fender man in Grants Pass. In 1989 he married the former Margie Swearingen and she preceded him in death in the late 90’s.

Gary was an artist and enjoyed drawing and wood sculpting. His hobbies also included fishing and flying radio controlled airplanes.

Survivors include a son, Jamie Snyder of Portland, Oregon; two sisters, Emily Snyder of Grants Pass, Oregon and Sammie Burton of Gold Hill, Oregon and two granddaughters.

Preceding him in death was a sister, Dianne Lee.
