G. Frank Sybrant

G. Frank Sybrant, age 67, of Cave Junction, Oregon, passed peacefully in his sleep and returned to his Father in Heaven on April 3, 2014.

A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2014 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Grants Pass Stake Center, 1969 Williams Hwy, Grants Pass, Oregon 97527. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Frank was born February 7, 1947 in San Francisco, California, eldest son of George and Isabelle Sybrant. In 1965 he married his childhood sweetheart, Carol Godwin in Chico, California. Frank and Carol settled in Southern Oregon to raise their nine children. A natural entrepreneur, Frank supported his family as a respected attorney and successful business owner.

Frank was an active and giving member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving most recently as the Bishop of the Cave Junction Ward in the Grants Pass Stake. Bishop Sybrant ends his service here in this life with 35 years of dedication to his faith. As an avid gardener, he shared his green thumb and passion for sustainability as an active member and leader in his Illinois Valley community.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, nine children, 27 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and his sister. He was preceded in death by his parents and youngest sister.
