Fred “Pop” Kasdorf, age 92, of O’Brien, died Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at his home.
Fred was born in California and raised in the East Bay. He later joined and served in the United States Army. He met his future wife in high school before going their own ways, but they never fell out of love. They got back together in the 1950’s and were married for 27 years. Fred worked as a carpenter in the East Bay area and retired in the 1960’s. In 1999, he moved from Bay Point, California.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting and yard work. He enjoyed keeping busy all the time and loved to tinker and make things from scrap.
Survivors include his daughter, Karen Luevano of O’Brien; son, Danny Williams of Diamond Springs, California and daughter, Darlene Costa of Concord, California; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, June, preceding him in death was a son, Paul and daughter, Lannie; a brother Richard and two sisters, Irene and Esther.
Private graveside services will be held at Oak View Memorial Park in Antioch, California. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
