Fred Marion Hanes

Fred Marion Hanes, age 81, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at his home.

A memorial service was held at Dayspring Baptist Church. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Fred was born June 4, 1927 in Haskell, Oklahoma to Goldman McKinney Hanes & Mary Maybell Barnes Hanes. From 1949 to 1951 he served in the United States Army. He moved from Mendota, California to Grants Pass less than a year ago.

He attended Dayspring Baptist Church.

His hobbies included boating, fishing, farming, and motorcycle riding.

Survivors include seven children, Peggy Tucker, David Hanes, Mary Arias Jorge, Carol Green, Edie O’Farrell, Tammy Hanes, and Dale Hanes; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna B. Hanes; two sisters and four brothers.
