Fred E. Jordan

Fred E. Jordan Jr., 93, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on April 9, 1913 in Medford, Oregon. He attended Grants Pass High School, class of 1930. He has lived in the Grants Pass area all of his life. On November 22, 1937 in Grants Pass, he married the former Elaine Leona McAllister, who preceded him in death in 1970. On May 5, 1971 in Carson City, Nevada, he married the former Hazel Hilery Jordan who preceded him in death on July 23, 1999. He worked most of his life in the lumber industry.

He was an avid gardener and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and hiking.

Survivors include his five children, Bill Jordan of Grants Pass; Jim Jordan of Williams; Don Jordan of Eureka, California; Janet Bridges of Everett, Washington; and Sheri Christiani of Seattle, Washington; his step-children, Delores Allen and Phil Jordan of Vancouver, Washington; Dwane Jordan of Spokane, Washington; and Ed Jordan of Central Point; 12 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous step grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Chuck Jordan on April 6, 1984; and his step-son, Ben Jordan.
