Former Grants Pass resident, Frank Armstrong, age 84, of Independence, Oregon died Monday, January 30, 2012 at Independence Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 3, 2012 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. Private interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Grants Pass Stake Center on Williams Hwy. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Frank was born August 1, 1927 in Arrey, New Mexico to James and Delhia May (Mosely) Armstrong as the 11th child in the family. On May 28, 1951 in Medford, Oregon he married the former Lavon Starks. The couple were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Seattle Temple on May 28, 1983. He is preceded in death by his wife Lavon in 1992. He later married Mary who preceded him in death. He retired from Murphy Creek Lumber Company in Grants Pass.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended the Redwood Ward while living in Grants Pass. Being a talented guitar player, Frank also belonged to The Fiddler's Club. In his younger years he volunteered his musical talents while making regular visits to local nursing homes.
Survivors include his four children, Kenneth Frank Armstrong of Jefferson, Oregon; Miles Curtis Armstrong of Vancouver, Washington; Lanette Dalia Pinchot of Dallas, Oregon; and Fran Wilma Armstrong of Logan, Utah; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
