Florence Elizabeth Rich

Florence Elizabeth Rich, age 93, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at her home.

Family services will be held at a later date in Iowa. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Florence was born December 31, 1916 in Washington, Iowa, the eighth child in a family of ten, to Franklin and Lydia Rich. She completed high school and three years of nurses training in Iowa and later served as a Registered Nurse on the East coast for the United States Navy in World War II. After the war, she worked as a Registered Nurse at Washington County Hospital until retiring. In the spring of 1963, Florence and a couple of siblings moved to Long Beach, California where they were active in church and related activities. By 1982, the group packed up again and moved to Grants Pass to be near other family members, where Florence remained till her death.

She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church.

Her hobbies included crafts and genealogy.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews and a few cousins.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters and her parents.

Florence’s family is especially grateful to Melissa Krehbiel and Dawn Aguilar for their loving daily care of Florence when it was most needed.
