Everett L. Ferrell, age 87, of Grants Pass, died Monday, July 8, 2013 at Fair View Transitional Health Center.
A viewing will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
A graveside service will be at 9:00 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2013 at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Remembrances may be made to American Diabetes Association or the Association of Aviation Ordnancemen Scholarship Fund.
Everett was born September 27, 1925 in Jonesboro, Illinois to Robert and Beatrice Ferrell. On August 16, 1958 in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania he married Kathryn Joyce, his wife of fifty-two years.
For twenty-two years he served in the United States Navy as a Master Chief (E-9) and was a World War II veteran. Afterwards, he worked briefly at Beckman Instruments and then went on to have a career as an Engineering Coordinator at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. He lived in Sunnyvale, California before moving to Murphys, California for 10 years. In 2000 he moved to Grants Pass.
Everett was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church and a charter member of The Association of Aviation Ordnancemen. While living in Sunnyvale, California he was a member of the YMCA and participated in the Y's Men Club.
His hobbies included woodworking, chair caning, cross-country traveling, sudoku, and cribbage.
Everett is survived by his daughter, Marjorie Wiley and husband Thomas of Grants Pass, Oregon; three sons, Steven Ferrell and wife LauraLynn of Grants Pass, Oregon, Andrew Ferrell and wife Nancy of Sacramento, California, and Patrick Ferrell and wife Malyn of San Jose, California; a sister, Lois Doctor of Oakland, California; and six grandchildren.
