Everett L. Dean, age 90, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, August 7, 2010 at his
home.
Private interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Grants Pass. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Everett was born May 19, 1920 in Everett, Washington, and grew up in the surrounding area. In 1939 he enlisted in the United States Navy at Bremerton, Washington. He served until 1945 aboard USS Eagle-48 & USS Laub In Lima, Peru and the Panama Canal Zone, and ported at Monterey, California. Everett attained the rank of Gunners Mate 3c in 1944. In 1946 he married Carmen Curreri of Monterey. Carmen had a nine year old son from a previous marriage and together with Everett, they had seven more children. Everett was a boat builder and later a carpenter until his retirement. In 1985 he and Carmen moved from Marina, California to Grants Pass, Oregon.
Everett was a member of the Carpenters Union Monterey Local # 1323.
He enjoyed a local Grants Pass pool team and bowling league.
Survivors include seven children including Charles Dean of Merlin, Oregon, Charmaine Pilger of O'Brien, Oregon, Paul Dean of Royal Oaks, California, Gary Dean of Salinas, California, Cathy Hamilton of Pacific Grove, California, Gina Rider of Watsonville, California, Sam Dean of Indiana, and stepson James Hendricks of San Jose, California
Everett was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Dean in 1997.
