Evelyn Elaine Temm-Meinel, age 77, of Williams, died Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Williams Community Church with Pastor Rob Culton officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Evelyn was born October 4, 1934 in Los Angeles, California to Rowland A. Priesing and Grace H. (nee’ Witte) Priesing. She was a serious student and graduated from Glendale High School, Glendale, California in 1953. In 1953 she married Lawrence Francis Temm, a love affair that lasted until his untimely death in 1976. That loving union produced five children, Michael, Terri, Edward, Gregory and Peter. Evelyn was a devoted homemaker and invested her energy in creating a happy and welcoming home for family and friends. Following her husband’s death, Evelyn became an LVN for many years in Southern California. She moved from South Pasadena, California to Williams, Oregon 15 years ago.
She was a member of Williams Community Church and Medford Weaving Guild.
Evelyn volunteered for vacation bible school, cub scouts, Bluebirds, P.T.A., Friends of the Library, and was a cookie baker extraordinaire for many church, community and school functions.
Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, weaving, embroidery and travelling. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include four sons, Michael Temm of Williams, Oregon, Edward Temm of Pasadena, California, Gregory Temm of Crestline, California and Peter Temm of Santa Clarita, California and a daughter, Terri Temm Labate of Wilmington, North Carolina; a sister, Janet M. Witte of Fort Bragg, California; a cousin, Martha Holliday of Fresno, California; eight grandchildren, Natalie, Mary, Jonathan, Hannah, Madison, Peyton, Ashley and Anthony and a great-grandchild, Theodore “Teddy”.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Lawrence F. Temm.
