Evelyn Adeline Maxson

Evelyn Adeline Maxson, age 80, of Cave Junction, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends at her daughter’s home in Roseburg, Oregon.

Evelyn was born November 13, 1930 in Hastings, Michigan. At the age of 13 she moved to California where she graduated from high school. In 1956 in California she married Herbert L. Maxson. For 20 years they lived in Bakersfield, California where she worked as a secretary for an asphalt paving company for many years. In 1986 they moved to Cave Junction.

Her interests included family, friends, gardening, crocheting, and reading.

Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Schoemehl of Roseburg, Oregon; two sons, Darryl Maxson of Cave Junction, Oregon and Steven Filippini of Grants Pass, Oregon; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Maxson.

A memorial graveside will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Roseburg National Cemetery with a gathering to be announced following the service. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
