Eva T. Willingham, age 88, of Grants Pass, died Friday, May 8, 2009 at Spring Village Retirement and Assisted Living.
A visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00, Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Calvary Crossroads with Pastor Bob Bonner officiating. Private interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Eva was born on June 26, 1920 in Mesquite, Texas to Lafayette & Susan Totten. She was raised in Dallas County, Texas and graduated from Richardson High School in 1939. On April 29, 1939 in Mesquite, Texas she married Dave Willingham. In 1942, together with her husband, she moved to San Diego, California. In 1992 they moved to Grants Pass. She was a mom twice, first to her children, then to her grandchildren.
She was a currently a member of Calvary Crossroads Church. While in San Diego she was a member of Ocean Beach Baptist Church where she also taught Sunday school. In the 50’s she was a Camp Fire Girl Leader.
Her hobbies included cooking, crossword puzzles, making surfer trunks, knitting and going to the beach. She especially loved being with her children and grandchildren. She loved watching her grandchildren participate in sporting events.
She is survived by her husband, Dave Willingham of Grant Pass; four daughters, Susan Willingham in Pullman, Washington, Kathy Gollaher of Paauilo, Hawaii; Nita Willingham of Grants Pass and granddaughter, Amber Willingham of Grants Pass; a grandson, D.J. Willingham of Grants Pass; a sister, Dorothy Cook of Garland, Texas; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, David L. Willingham in 1996.
