Eva Catherine Christensen passed away on August 5, 2010 surrounded by very dear and true friends. She was married to Gary (Chris) Christensen on November 26, 1955. They retired to Grants Pass, Oregon in 1982 and lived there until Gary passed away in August of 2002. Eva married Michael Powers in 2005. Mike passed away in 2007. Mike treated Eva like a queen. They traveled to many places together and thoroughly enjoyed the two years they shared. The family is ever grateful to Mike for the love he had for Eva.
Eva is survived by four sons and their spouses: Larry and Cheryl Christensen of Eagle, Idaho, Randy and Linda Christensen of Morgan Hill, California, Craig and Natalie Christensen of San Jose, California and Glen and Christine Christensen of Pleasant Grove, Utah and 15 grand children, many great grand children and two “adopted” daughters. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Ames. Since Gary’s death Eva lived in Utah until her passing. The last year of her life was spent with dear friends at The Charleston in Cedar Hills, Utah. Before starting a family she worked as an administrative assistant to a flight engineer with Pan American Airways. She was a faithful stay at home mother and cherished her children. Eva served in the baptistery of the Mount Timpanogos LDS Temple for one year and as a missionary at the LDS Church’s Employment Center for 18 months. Throughout her life she spent many hours transcribing names from vital records and preparing them for vicarious temple work. She loved being surrounded by friends and family, playing scrabble, knitting, crocheting and her favorite past time was dancing with her sweetheart, Gary. They are dancing again.
