Eugene R. Harding

Eugene R. Harding, age 83, of Phoenix, passed away on July 22, 2013 in Rogue River, OR.

He was born on July 14, 1930 in Jamestown, NY, and moved to Phoenix, AZ as a teenager. He graduated Phoenix High School and then joined the Navy during the Korean War. He married Thelma M.E. Harding on March 6, 1953. After graduating from ASU, he worked at Reynolds Metals. He later left and served in the Arizona National Guard until retirement at age 60.

He is survived by his 5 children: Lindsay Harding, Kevin Harding, Laura Bailey, Elesha VanDyke, and Julia Yazzie; as well as his 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

His wife, Thelma M.E. Harding preceded him in death.

Eugene loved to talk with people, share stories, learn, spend time outdoors, and work on cars. He loved Hawaii and the outdoors in general. Rain or shine, hot or cold, Everyday was a beautiful day.

He was a strong husband and father, a loving friend, and a neighbor to all.

A memorial service will be held at the LDS Church in Phoenix, AZ on August 10, 2013 at 10:30 am.
