Ethel Mae “Mickie” Goodman, age 90, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.
Family services will be held. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Mickie was born July 25, 1920 in Westville, Oklahoma to Dallas & Martha Hamblin. In 1937 she graduated from Westville High School and later moved to Sacramento, California. During World War II she worked as a fork lift operator for Sharp’s Army Depot. She then moved to Stockton, California where she was a telephone operator for several years. In December 1948 she married C. Lee Goodman and they later divorced. In 1998 she moved from Sacramento to Reedsport, Oregon and in 2000 she moved to the Rogue Valley. For the last eight years she resided in Grants Pass.
Mickie was a member of the Eastern Star in Stockton and Veteran’s of Foreign Wars.
While living at The Bridge she volunteered by spending time with hospice patients.
Mickie especially enjoyed cooking and exercising and was a stretching class instructor at The Bridge.
Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda Moss of Sacramento, California and Shelly Goodman of Joseph, Oregon; a son, Jeff Goodman of Grants Pass, Oregon; a brother, F.L. Hamblin of Clarksburg, California; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
