Erwin Koszescha

Erwin Koszescha (Erwin the Painter), age 74, of Grants Pass, died Friday, October 10, 2008 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

A visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 20, 2008 at the Grants Pass Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Marvin Clark officiating. Interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Erwin was born December 21, 1933 in Germany. At the age of 14 he left Germany and moved to Canada where he learned to paint while living in Alberta. He then moved to California where he lived until 1978 when he moved to Grants Pass. For 30 years he owned Erwin’s Painting & Decorating. On June 11, 1998 in Lynden, Washington he married Hilda Virginia Dunbar.

Erwin was a member of the Grants Pass Seventh-day Adventist Church for 30 years and a member of a Seventh-day Adventist Church in California for five years.

He enjoyed reading, especially the Bible and traveling.

In addition to his wife, Hilda Koszescha of Grants Pass; he is survived by three sons, Wayne Dunbar of Modesto, California, Stephen Dunbar of Loma Linda, California and Michael Dunbar of Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada; and four grandchildren.
