Ellen Roberts

Ellen Roberts, age 86, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, May 19, 2012 at her home.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A memorial service will be at 7:00 pm, Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Grants Pass Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Marvin Clark officiating. Interment will be at 10:00 am, Friday, May 25, 2012 at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Ellen was born July 18, 1925 in Wann, Oklahoma. She attended Walla Walla University and White Memorial Nursing School in Los Angeles, California. On June 30, 1947 in Pendleton, Oregon she married Ted Roberts. In 1963 she and Ted moved from Glendale, Oregon where they lived for eight years to Grants Pass.

Ellen was a member of the Grants Pass Seventh-day Adventist Church. She volunteered with Maranatha Volunteers International and traveled to Mexico, The Dominican Republic and in the U.S.

She enjoyed music, reading, gardening, camping, and most of all, providing hospitality to family and friends who blessed her home.

Ellen is survived by her three daughters, Kaye Helbley (Ben) of Reno, Nevada; Janice Dorrington of Bayside, California; and Beverly Roberts (Dan) of Deer Park, Washington, one sister, Erma Landis of Simi Valley, California; 8 grandchildren, Andrew and Matthew Roberts, Danna Roberts Leach (Zach), Vincent and Jacquelyn Dorrington, Keith Helbley (Jennifer), Kevin Helbley (Alodia), David Helbley (Gina); and 3 great grandchildren, Leslie Helbley, Journey Helbley and Abbie Leach. She was preceded in death by her husband Ted; parents, Asa Edwin and Claudia Lewis; 3 sisters, Marjery Elna Lewis, Nina Randall and Lola Lucas and 2 brothers, Earl Lewis and Evan Lewis.
