Elden Lee Dollarhide, 54, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at his home.
A celebration of life potluck and BBQ will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at Indian Mary Park with Pastor Christopher Reed officiating. Those wishing may send condolences to the Dollarhide family at www.since1928hull.com. Southern Oregon Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.
Elden was born January 6, 1952 in Grants Pass, Oregon and was a 1970 graduate of Grants Pass High School. On August 11, 1969 he met his wife on a blind date and on March 28, 1970 at Redwood Country Church they were married. There’s was the last wedding held in the old church building. He attended Rogue Community College and was one of the first students to graduate, where he earned an Associate degree in Automotive Technology. He was gainfully employed all his life and strived to take good care of his family. He worked on log trucks for a local logging company; worked at the Arco Station on M Street; and for over ten years operated his mother’s karaoke business, “Karaoke In Motion,” a mobile unit where he traveled all over southern Oregon.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Lodge.
He enjoyed bowling and was in the “Master’s League” at Showtime Family Lanes on Monday nights. A true outdoorsman, his hobbies also included camping, hunting, and fishing. He loved sports and activities with his children and taking in their friends and giving them a home when they had no where else to go.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Dollarhide; three children, DeeDee Harper, Cassandra Macdonald, and Michael Dollarhide; his mother, Lillian Dollarhide; two sisters, Joy Reveal and Connie Golden all of Grants Pass; and six grandchildren.
