Elaine Merlee Parmer was born to Delbert & Edith Rossiter of Cave Junction in 1952. After graduating in 1970, Elaine began working at a cabinet factory where she met her husband John Lewis Parmer II. They married in 1976 and resided predominantly in Josephine County where they raised their 3 children.
Elaine was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world to be with the Lord on September 8, 2021 at the age of 69. She was a Christian who loved God deeply. She had a great trust in the Lord, prayed continually, and is now at perfect peace in heaven with the Lord!
Elaine was an amazing woman who sacrificed for others! She was one of the most gentle, caring and selfless people this world has ever seen. She would go out of her way to lend help to those in need, she loved other people well. She was fun, reliable, strong, easy going, humble, generous, easy to talk to, a good listener, and such a hard worker. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, crocheting, reading, bird watching, visiting with family and friends, being outside in nature and found the beauty in just about everything.
Elaine is survived by her husband, John Parmer of Grants Pass; her daughters, Amy Carter of Merlin, Angie Ward of Grants Pass, & Edie Eyman of White City; her sister Nancy Forthun; her brothers, Ronald Rossiter and Hank Rossiter; and her 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert & Edith Rossiter and her sisters, Cecilia Shippy and Lois Anderson.
The service will be at 9 am on Monday September 20th at the Eagle Point National Cemetery. A celebration of life potluck will be held afterwards at 11am at Edgewater Christian Fellowship. Please come and share your memories of Elaine as we celebrate and remember her rich life.
