Eileen Mary "Bam Bam" Estes

Eileen Mary Estes of Grants Pass, known as “Bam Bam” to her family, passed away Sunday August 23, 2015 at Foothill Manor in Rogue River, OR. She was born to Cecil and Sarah Haverty on January 28, 1939 in Culver City, CA and later raised by Cecil and Dee Dee Haverty in Southern California. Mary moved to Grants Pass with her family in 1976 when her first husband retired from the military. She worked as a homemaker in her early years and in 1984 she married Robert “Bob” Estes, her soulmate, who survives.

She enjoyed camping and fishing with her family, bowling and dancing with her friends, and enjoying the various sports and activities of her grandchildren. She worked many years for the Josephine County Senior Meal program before retiring in 1996. She and Bob enjoyed traveling in their motor home to the coast upon retirement. She was a member of the local Elks and Eagle’s Clubs along with her husband Bob.

She is survived by her sister Carol Blake of Grants Pass, her daughters Carol Holland and Shannon Van Boven both of Grants Pass, her step children Tim Estes of Gardnerville, NV and Cathy Wilson of Redmond, OR as well as 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brothers Richard and Gerald Haverty and her loving parents. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hull and Hull Funeral Directors.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday August 31, 2015 at 11:00 am at Hull and Hull Funeral Directors located at 612 NW A Street in Grants Pass. Final burial will be at the Eagle Point National Cemetery at 1:00 pm following the Celebration of Life.
