Edward M. Lyneis, age 75, of Grants Pass, passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday, December 29, 2011 at his home.
A remembrance celebration of life will be at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2012 at The Sportsman Park, Archery Pavilion in Merlin, Oregon. Casual dress and bow and arrows optional. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Ed was born May 8, 1936 in Madison, Wisconsin to Edward Martin Lyneis & Maxine Elizabeth Lindsey Lyneis. In 1954 he graduated from Central High School in Madison. For four years he served in the United States Marine Corps. On December 4, 1959 in Burbank, California he married Ann Herrington. Together they moved to Simi Valley, California in 1962 and raised three children. From 1959 until his retirement in 1993 Ed worked at Singer Librascope in Glendale, California. In 2000 he moved from California to Grants Pass, Oregon.
Ed was a National Certified Level 3 Archer Instructor and was the proud instructor of many students through National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP). He had a passion for archery and loved to teach students the art of shooting the bow and arrow.
His memberships included the National Field Archery Association; Oregon Bow Hunters; Oregon Hunter’s Association; Rogue Valley Archers; and the National Rifle Association.
Ed’s hobbies included archery, hunting, fishing with his beloved wife, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Ann Lyneis of Grants Pass, Oregon; Ed is survived by two sons, Scott Lyneis of Boise, Idaho and Derek Lyneis and wife Jennifer Bates of Battle Mountain, Nevada; a daughter, Dawn Farmer and husband Rick Farmer of Simi Valley, California; a sister, Donna Murphy of Wisconsin; and three grandchildren, Dustin Edward Lyneis, Morgan Sue-Ann Lyneis and Natalie Dawn Lyneis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and youngest sister, Karen Gorup.
