Edith Marie Todd Provost

Edith Marie Todd Provost, age 89, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, December 24, 2011 at her home in the company of her daughters.

Edith was born August 26, 1922 in Lampman, Saskatchewan, Canada to parents Lewis Todd and Dora Pilon Todd. She attended business school and worked in Edmonton, Alberta prior to transferring to San Francisco with the U.S. Engineers in 1943. In California she was introduced to Glenn Provost, a marine, and the man who would be her husband and partner for over 62 years. Together they had three children, Edward (deceased 1983), Judith and Margaret Jane.

Edith worked as a bookkeeper for the Probation Department in Martinez, California retiring in 1970 to move from Martinez to Grants Pass, Oregon.

Edith enjoyed weaving, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Edith is survived by her two daughters, Judy (Gary) Barlettani and “Janie” (Dana) Alden, daughter-in-law Sharon Provost (Dean) Ruddell and grandsons, Brian Aldo Barlettani, Daniel James Alden, Aaron Todd Alden, Matthew Clayton Alden, Timothy Andrew Alden, Glenn Howard Provost and Jared Dean Ruddell. She was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Reagan Alden, Waylon Alden, and James Edward Provost.

Edith has joined her husband at Eagle Point National Cemetery.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
