Edith Marie Howell

Edith Marie Howell, age 91, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, July 22, 2010 at her sister’s home where she has lived for 6 1/2 years.

A visitation will be from 9:30 to service time, Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors

A funeral service will began at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Hull & Hull Chapel.
Interment will follow at Granite Hill Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Edith was born on January 21, 1919 in Estella, Oklahoma. On July 30, 1935 in Goldendale, Washington she married Carter Howell. Carter passed away on March 3, 1992. She worked in the cafeteria at Highland Elementary School. She lived in the Grants Pass area for over 73 years.

She sang in the Lady’s Choir and was active in PTA.

Survivors include two sons, LeRoy Howell of Winchester, Oregon and Don Howell of Grants Pass; a daughter, Carol Tillery of Ocean Park, Washington; a sister, Mary Jean Lindh of Grants Pass, 12 grandchildren and over 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Carter Howell who died March 3, 1992; a son, Bobby Howell who died in 1958; a sister, Elsie Bostick who died on July 8, 2003 and two brothers, Burl Carver who died on June 10, 2001 and Guy Carver who died September 9, 2006.
