Duane L. Howard

Duane L. Howard, age 89, of Grants Pass, died March 30, 2021 at his home.

Duane was born December 2, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois and was raised in Van Nuys, California. He married the love of his life, Julia Connelly on August 22, 1954. He spent many years as a Contractor specializing in custom concrete work before moving to Oregon where he drove truck up and down I-5. After he retired from trucking, he spent his time at Fox Firearm sharing his love of guns.

Duane was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, uncle, mentor, and friend. He was respected, loved and always looked to for advice by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his children who could always count on him for strong guidance and lots of love.

His hobbies included hunting, fishing, racquetball, golf, water-skiing, camping and especially enjoyed time with his family. He had a love for NASCAR and the 49ers.

Survivors include five children Dennis (Alisia) Howard, Melinda (Joe) Hankins and Damon Howard all of Grants Pass, Sharon Roberts of Horseshoe Bend, Idaho and Karen Ainsworth of Pendleton, Oregon; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Julia Howard and his eldest son Duane L. Howard Jr.
