Dr. Jon Duane Gove, of Grants Pass died at his home on April 18, 2013.
A private celebration of life will be held.

Jon Duane Gove was born May 13, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio to Roger Madden Gove and Eleanor Jane (Rooney) Gove. Jon graduated from West High School in Columbus in 1956. He enjoyed working summer jobs for the Forest Service in Idaho before he graduated from Ohio State University in 1961. Jon married Judith E. Washburn in 1965 and they later divorced.
Jon received his medical degree from the Ohio State University School of Medicine in 1967. In the same year, he completed his internship at the Seattle Naval Hospital and then served for two years at the Native American Hospital in Mt. Edgecumbe, Alaska as a general medical officer. After leaving Alaska, he worked as an emergency room physician at the Yakima General Hospital in Yakima, Washington and later received his Radiology degree at the University of Missouri in 1974.
Jon moved his family to Grants Pass in 1975 and worked as a partner with Drs. William S. Judy and Curtis Coulam at Josephine Memorial Hospital. Later, he was a partner in Three Rivers Radiology until his retirement in 2002. Jon married Aurelia Shupe in 2010.
He was a lifelong conservationist and outdoorsman. He enjoyed reading, bird watching, rafting, sea kayaking and hunting game birds with his Labrador retrievers.
Survivors include his wife, Aurelia, two sons and their families: Jon Baranof Gove of Medford, Oregon and Bryan Roger Gove of Grants Pass, Oregon; his mother, Eleanor Jane Gove of Urbana, Ohio; two sisters, Janet Dye of Cable, Ohio and Judith Gove of Grove City, Ohio; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Roger M. Gove and a sister, Jo Anne Webb.
