Dorothy Virginia Laura Lane passed in the early hours of Tuesday morning, May 5th. She was met by numerous loved ones who preceded her, including her handsome husband, Harold, the love of her life.
Dorothy was born in Colorado Springs on November 28, 1918. She lived on the family farm until the Depression, when she moved to Los Angeles with her folks. Dorothy was a comptometer operator and lived as a single blonde bombshell until 1947, when she married Harold. They operated a dry-cleaning business in San Diego, and had daughters in 1948 and 1952. Dorothy and the girls followed her airline-pilot husband to Saudi Arabia in 1957. They returned to Southern California in 1964. Harold passed in 1971. Dorothy moved to Sacramento in 1984 to join Suzanne, and to Rogue River in 2002 to join Colleen.
Dorothy left behind family who love her and will miss her terribly: Two daughters Colleen “Kellie” Pomeroy and Suzanne Farrand; their husbands Ron and Scott; step-daughter Melody Cartledge; four grandchildren Ian, Lee, Ben, and Nancy; and five great-grandchildren. More loving family lives in Texas.
