Dorothy Mae Trowbridge Lee, age 89, of Grants Pass, died Monday, August 16, 2010 at Providence Medford Medical Center surrounded by her family.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, September 4, 2010. Please call 541-479-2599 for information. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy was born January 27, 1921 in Franklinville, New York to Marshall & Eva Trowbridge. After receiving her nurses training at Rochester General Hospital in New York, she married Harry Garrison Lee who preceded her in death August 17, 1973. In 1957 she moved to Grants Pass and worked as a cook at South Jr. High when it first opened its doors. In 1963 Dorothy started work at J.C. Penney’s downtown department store on 6th street as their first credit manager, retiring in 1983.
Dorothy especially adored her six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. With her faith and deep devotion for God, she mentored many people throughout her life. One of her delights was teaching Sunday school for over 30 years.
Always interested in cooking, she acquired an extensive collection of cookbooks from around the world. She enjoyed serving others with hospitality.
Dorothy is survived by a sister, Beatrice Ruhli of Seattle, Washington; three daughters, Sandy Foster of Grants Pass, Landie Baumann of Vancouver, Washington and Jann Claflin of Cannon Beach; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
