Dorothy June Newman

Dorothy June Newman, age 78, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, October 27, 2013 at her home.

A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

Dorothy was born June 17, 1935 in Hastain, Missouri to Charles Edmond “Ed” Duckworth & Ethel May (Richardson) Duckworth. In 1946 her family moved to Oregon and in 1964 she moved to Grants Pass. At age 16 she married and raised four boys and an adopted daughter. Her quest for knowledge led her to college where she majored in writing. This later expanded into the religious front where she became a minister, author, and a leader in new age teachings. She has authored 17 books and has been an inspiration to many other leaders in new age teachings. Many who are familiar with her teachings know her as Dorothy Leon. In 2010 she met her current husband, Bill Newman who is also a minister.

Dorothy was a co-founder and member of Circle of Radiant Heart. She especially enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her husband, William John Newman of Grants Pass; four sons, David Allen Webb, Darrell Ray “Huck” Webb, Roy Richard “Rick” Webb and Daniel Edmond Webb; a daughter, Suzanne Angelica Bonneville; a sister, Peggy Jean Duckworth; a brother, Dennis Roy Duckworth; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents.
