Dorothy “Blondie” Kilborn, age 91, of Grants Pass, died July 5, 2019 in Grants Pass.
Dorothy was born September 7, 1927 in Sacramento, California to Clarence & Mabel (Burns) Flick. On March 26, 1947 she married Cecil Ogden Kilborn who preceded her in death in 2007. Together with her husband they owned and operated a construction business in Carmichael, California. In 1965 the family moved to Grants Pass and started Kilborn Construction. Dorothy enjoyed the home building business acting as office manager, bookkeeper, decorator and landscaper. In addition she managed the rental units built by her husband.
Dorothy was a member and past president of the Colonial Valley Garden Club, member of the Rose Society, Josephine County Homebuilders Association and Southern Oregon Renters Association, where she was landlord of the year in 2007.
Her hobbies included doing things with the family, homemaking and gardening. Due to her love of landscaping her backyard was featured in an issue of Sunset Magazine.
Survivors include her children Billy Kilborn and Lori Farmer; grandchildren Lisa Kissel, Coy Kilborn, and Alexandra Fauver all of Grants Pass; sister Evelyn Ellsworth of Sacramento; brother Richard Flick of Eureka, California; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by brother Albert Dimmitt; and sister Darlene Eckhart.
A viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
