Dorothy Amelia (Edson) Clark, age 85, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at her home at Arbor House.
She was born Dorothy Amelia Edson on October 29, 1922 in Tulare, California. She was the daughter of Lena Edson and W.W. Edson and had two older brothers, Charles Edson and Walter Edson all of whom preceded her in death. Dorothy was raised in Selma, California, graduated from Selma Union High School in 1939 and attended Reedley College earning a secretarial degree. She worked as a secretary for the Army during World War II and for various companies during her career, retiring as secretary/office manager from the First United Methodist Church in Selma, California.
On February 8, 1942, she married Donald F. Woolley, in Richmond, California and together they raised three children, Van M. Woolley of Sherman Oakes, California; Connie Woolley Denham of Grants Pass, Oregon; and Florence Woolley Bedrosian of Carson City, Nevada, who all survive her.
Dorothy married Russell L. Clark on October 22, 1977, in Selma California and became stepmother to Barbara Simms of Fresno, California, and Keith Erickson of Hayward California, who also survive her. She was a loving mother who will be missed greatly by all of her children.
Dorothy was an active member of the United Methodist Church, serving as an officer for United Methodist Women and helping plan and coordinate a variety of church activities and events. She also enjoyed needlework and doll collecting.
Besides her children and stepchildren, she is survived by two granddaughters, Staci Denham of Carson City, California and Heather Denham of San Francisco, California.
Services for Dorothy will be held at First United Methodist Church in Selma, California with arrangements by Page Funeral Home.
