Doris Jean Roney, age 91, of Grants Pass, died Friday, August 1, 2014 at Three Rivers Medical Center.
A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Calvary Chapel, 269 W. Harbeck Road, with Pastor Denny Stahl officiating. Private interment was held at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Doris was born October 5, 1922 in Johnson County, Iowa, one of ten children to Walter & Marie (Driscoll) Buck. She enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a pharmacist’s mate until her honorable discharge in October 1945. For many years she worked as a loan officer in Van Nuys, California. On February 21, 1963 she married the love of her life, Ed Roney and lived happily until his passing in 2003. Together they pursued many interests including purchasing an avocado ranch in Escondido, California. In 1990 she moved from southern California to Grants Pass.
Doris was a member of Parkway Christian Center, but most recently an active member of Calvary Chapel, which she loved very much.
She was an active volunteer with the Pregnancy Care Center, often calling women and convincing them to keep their baby and not abort.
Her hobbies included golf and reading and she especially loved being with family and friends. Doris was always witnessing to people of her love for the Lord.
Survivors include two sisters, Gerene Cohrs of Bakersfield, California and Lois Banks of Grants Pass, Oregon; and two brothers, Homer Buck of Mesa, Arizona and Gary Buck of Anthem, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Watts; her husband, Edgar Roney; her parents, Walter & Marie Buck; three sisters, Virginia Boyle, Phyllis Weber, and Alice Parker; and two brothers, Kenneth Buck and Walter Buck Jr.
