Doris E. Bowles

Doris E. Bowles, age 82, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Doris was born November 5, 1931 in Mobile, Alabama to Forest & Retta (Lambert) Pugh. For many years she worked as a secretary for the State of California Youth Authority in Chino, California retiring 25 years ago. After her marriage to William Bowles, she moved from Chino to Grants Pass 23 years ago.

Doris was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Merlin Ward where she especially enjoyed her calling as Ward Missionary with her husband.

Her hobbies included sewing and embroidery.

In addition to her husband, William Bowles of Grants Pass, Oregon; Doris is survived by a son, Gary Pugh of Southern California; a daughter, Cindy Pugh of Bandon, Oregon; two stepchildren, Neil Bowles of Hesperia, California and Dale Bowles of Helena, Montana; a brother, Bill Pugh of Eagle Point, Oregon; and one grandchild.
