Donna Marie Emerich

Donna Marie Emerich, age 75, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at an adult foster home.

Services are pending. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Donna was born August 14, 1935 in Tacoma, Washington to Elmer & Leona Powers. On August 17, 1951 in Tacoma she married Joseph W. Emerich. For two years Donna attended Solano Community College in Suisun, California and received her LVN license. For three years she worked at the Veterans Hospital in Martinez, California and later worked at a medical clinic for two years. In 1992 she moved from California to Grants Pass.

Donna was a member of a CB club in Fairfield, California. She also volunteered with the Girl Scouts as a co-leader for five years and volunteered with the Boy Scouts both in Fairfield, California.

Donna enjoyed feeding and watching hummingbirds, gardening, reading, camping, and trips to the Oregon coast.

Survivors include two daughters, Judith Hanson of Browns Valley, California and Debra Lippolis of Grants Pass, Oregon; a son, Dennis Emerich of Grants Pass, Oregon; a sister, Betty Tatro of Nampa, Idaho; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Joseph W. Emerich on December 2, 2010.
