Former Grants Pass resident, Donna M. Steach, age 86, of Medford, died Thursday, May 26, 2011 at her home.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Orchard Assisted Living, 1018 Royal Court, Medford, Oregon. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Donna was born June 22, 1924 in Wing, North Dakota to Everett & Lillian See. She grew up in North Dakota and graduated from high school in Bismarck and later worked as a bookkeeper for Lucas Company. In December 1949 she married Kenneth Hendricks who died in a logging accident in 1962. In 1955 she moved from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Klamath Falls, Oregon where she lived for a year. She then moved to Medford in 1956 and Grants Pass in 1957. For many years she worked as a florist at Grants Pass Flower Shop and Rogue River Florist. On May 27, 1970 in Winnemucca, Nevada she married Delmer Steach, who died in 1993. In 1996 she moved back to Medford.
Donna was a member of the Eagles in Grants Pass for many years.
Donna was a wonderful cook and enjoyed crocheting, baking, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include four daughters, Frankie Conner of Grants Pass, Oregon, Carmel Biegert of Medford, Oregon, Claudia Hawk of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Celeste Hari of Salem, Oregon; a brother, Keith See of Klamath Falls, Oregon; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Gray in 1992.
