Donna L. Booth, age 78, of Grants Pass, died July 6, 2018 at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland.
Born Donna Louise Parrack on August 19, 1938 in Los Angeles, California. Donna was the only living child of Don and Blanche Parrack. After graduating from Grants Pass High School in 1957, Donna spent time traveling and living in different places including Texas, Germany and Indiana. After returning to Grants Pass she met and married William (Bill) D. Paylor and his 3 daughters, whom she always loved like they were her own. She was married to Bill until his death in 1989 and gave birth to 2 children, Phillip Paylor of Grants Pass and Brenda Paylor of Happy Valley, Oregon.
After her children were all of school age, Donna went to work for the Grants Pass School District. She worked at Grants Pass High School from 1974 until 2000, starting in the library and later moving to data processing. Donna lived for all things GPHS, from football games to graduations and especially reunions. Since she didn’t have reunions of her own often enough, she spent much of her time after retirement working on coordinating reunions for other classes from Grants Pass High School. Donna loved to square dance – which is where she met her husband Chet. For the last 25 years, Donna was a member of Redwood Christian Church and enjoyed helping with transportation for members who needed it, as well as helping Chet with Vacation Bible School.
Donna is survived by her husband of 24 years, Chet O. Booth, as well as her 5 children, Debra Sonner, Gerry Paylor and Phillip Paylor of Grants Pass, Roberta West of Las Vegas and Brenda Paylor of Happy Valley, Oregon;10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren in addition to 4 step-children, 13 step-grandchildren and 17 step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Paylor, her father Don Parrack and her mother Blanche (Moore) Parrack as well as a step-daughter.
