Donald Clarence "Don" Mortinson

Donald Clarence Mortinson, age 84, died November 26, 2013 at Three Rivers Medical Center.

A celebration of life will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors with a reception following.

Don was born February 4, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to Elizabeth & Arthur Mortinson. After serving his country admirably in the Korean War, he married his bride for life, Nancy, in 1952. He then developed a mastery in brick and stone masonry that became his life-long trade. Don moved his family to California in 1962 to take advantage of the construction boom, and eventually he moved them to Southern Oregon in 1970 where they have mostly resided since.

Over the years, Don enjoyed a love of plants, Japanese gardening, watching sports, and in his later years, painting of landscapes.

Those surviving are his wife of sixty-one years, Nancy; sons, Tom, Jack, Mark, Dan, Bob and Jim Mortinson, fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his beloved son, David.
