Dona June Snyder

Dona June Snyder, age 80, of Grants Pass, passed away with her family by her side Tuesday, June 14, 2009 at Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford.

No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Dona was born in Cooperstown, North Dakota, on July 2, 1928 to Otto and Martha Johnson. She was employed as a teacher in Cooperstown, where she lived until 1947.
In 1947 Dona moved to Grants Pass and began work for the phone company. In 1948 she met Robert “Duke” Snyder, who she married in 1949. The couple had two children while living in Grants Pass, Joseph O. Snyder in 1949 and Teresa Ann Snyder in 1952. Dona and Duke relocated in 1960 to Klamath Falls, where Dona worked as the office manager of Southern Oregon Cable Television until she retired in 1978. In the mid 80’s the couple moved toBrookings to enjoy their retirement. In August, 2006, Dona and Duke returned to Grants Pass to be closer to their family.

Dona’s love for her family and devotion to Duke were only matched by her warmth and depth of character.

She is survived by her husband Duke of Grants Pass; children, Joe of Medford, and Teresa of Grants Pass; daughter-in-law, Rea Snyder and son-in-law Rick Ackerman; grandchildren, Chelsea and Chad Snyder.
