Dewey L. Harrison, age 92, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Norris Manor.
Memorial services were held. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors were in charge of arrangements.
Remembrances may be made to the Masonic Lodge.
Dewey was born October 12, 1920 in Ireland, Texas to Earnest Earl & Mary Jane Harrison. He graduated from Holtville High School and attended 1 years of college. During World War II he served in the United States Navy as an EM2/C. On December 3, 1948 he married Alberta Hanson. For 20 years Dewey was a manager for General Electric Supply Company in El Centro, San Diego, San Bernardino and Anaheim, California. Over the years he owned and operated Desert Appliance in Imperial, California; and was employed with Consolidated Aircraft Corp as an aircraft electrical inspector in San Diego; Golden State Creamery as the assistant chief engineer in El Centro, California. In 1983 he moved to Grants Pass.
Dewey was a life member of the Masonic Lodge since 1958; Veterans of Foreign Wars; and previously was a member of the El Centro Rotary Club.
His hobbies included financial consulting, investing, chess, and bridge.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharlene Olson and Barbara Guenther; a sister, Donaleen Reynolds; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta Harrison; and five siblings, Earnest Harrison, Mattie Reynolds, Lowe Harrison, Juanita Green, and Charles Harrison.
