Denise Diane Watts, 37, of Medford died unexpectedly from a tragic car accident on January 31, 2021. Denise was born on August 9th,1983 to Julian (late) and Kathy Warren in Eugene, Oregon. She lived most of her life in the Eugene-Springfield area except in 2018 when she moved to Medford, Oregon. Denise grew up in one house throughout her childhood which created happy memories. She attended Crest Drive Elementary School, Jefferson Middle School and graduated from Churchill High School in 2001.
Denise’s first job was working at Albertsons. After high school, she attended Lane Community College where she graduated from the Dental Assisting Program in 2003. She then worked for Dr. Timothy Welch as a dental assistant for 4 years.
She met the love of her life Michael Watts in January of 2006. They were engaged within a few months and were married for time and all eternity in the Portland Temple on September 16th, 2006. Denise had a strong desire to be a mother from an early age. They were blessed with their first daughter, Alia Kay on March 12th, 2008, second daughter, Kylee Jordan on October 10th, 2010, first son, Caleb Ryan on Nov 1st, 2013, second son, Mikey on March 8, 2016 and third son, Blake Carson, on February 5, 2017.
Denise was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and lived it everyday. It was very important to Denise and Mike to raise their children in the gospel and that is what they did on a daily basis. Denise was able to stay home with their children while Mike provided for the family. Denise loved her family with all of her heart. Her husband and children were the center of her world.
Denise’s hobbies included photography, baking, home decorating and party planning. Her interest in photography began in high school but she became passionate when she decided to have pictures taken every month for her children’s first year of life. She quickly realized that she was doing all the work. This included bringing all the props while the photographer simply snapped the photo. She was very creative with the theme of the photos and they were different every month. She then started taking family photos, newborn photos and senior photos on the side for fun. She never wanted to charge for it because she was too critical of her work.
She loved to bake and was very good at it. You could frequently find Denise in the kitchen making cinnamon rolls, cookies, cakes from scratch and a variety of other desserts when she found a new recipe.
Denise moved a lot in during her married life. They would buy a home, fix it up and sell it. They did that successfully with 3 different homes and this gave her the opportunity to do a lot of decorating. She also enjoyed staging the home when they put it up for sale. When Denise and Mike moved to Medford they built a home together that they designed. They finished construction and moved into the home in late 2019. Denise was so proud of her home as she should have been.
Denise had a real gift when it came to planning parties for her kids. She would come up with a theme and go all out. Most moms were in awe of what she would pull off. She would come up with the theme months in advance. She would hand make all the decorations and make the cake from scratch usually with fondant and intricate decorations. Denise put many hours into every party and it showed. She was always working on it right up until the party started with just enough time to quickly do her hair and makeup. She wanted to make it the most unique and special birthday for each of her children.
Denise was very competitive. She played soccer when she was young. She also really loved to play games, especially board games and card games, but you had to watch out because she had to win. Denise loved to watch T.V. Some of her favorite shows were Friends, Big Brother, Bachelor, Survivor, Full House, 20/20 and a variety of other shows. Denise and Mike loved travelling with their kids. They went on many family vacations including Disneyland, Disney World, Hawaii, cruises, and Mexico. Denise wasn’t the “camping” type, but still enjoyed it with her kids & husband. She also enjoyed taking them to the beach.
Denise was a huge duck fan. She loved watching the ducks play on T.V., but she really enjoyed going to duck games. You would always see her flashing the “O”. Denise was also a huge country music fan. She loved Carrie Underwood and Garth Brooks and saw them both in concert recently. She passed her love of Carrie Underwood onto Alia & Kylee and they attended the Carrie Underwood concert with her. Denise’s sudden passing weighs heavy on our hearts, but having the knowledge through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of what happens after we die brings us comfort in knowing that families are eternal and we will see her again someday.
She was predeceased by her father Julian Guy Warren I and her son, Mikey Watts. Survivors include her husband, Michael Watts, children, Alia (12), Kylee (10), Caleb (7) and Blake (4), her mother Kathy Warren, her mother and father in law, Bob & Kay Watts, siblings Guy Warren, Linda Smith, Pat Warren, Julie Burton, Terry Warren, Andrea Brandsma, Nicole McCluskey, Julian Warren II and Danielle Warren, Sister-in-laws, Michele Hoak, Lisa Regnell, brother-in-law Jay Watts, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts & uncles.
