Delores D. “Dee” Hardwick, age 83, of Rogue River, Oregon went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2020.
Delores was born August 8, 1936 in Brainerd, Minnesota to Alfred & Marie Malloy. In 1951 she met and married Jerry Austin and together they raised four children, relocating to Washington state in 1963. The couple later divorced in 1977.
Delores worked for many years as a waitress and had many favorite, beloved customers. One of those customers Ken Hardwick won her heart, becoming her husband in 1981. They lived in Bothell, Washington for several years before retiring to Rogue River, Oregon in 1998.
Dee was first and foremost devoted to her faith and was a true prayer warrior. She was also an avid reader, well known by the staff at the local library. Friends and family enjoyed her many funny stories and witty comments often telling her she should have written a book.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie (Bill) Simpson of Monroe, Washington and Tawny (Pat) Collins of Naples, Idaho; two sons Kim Austin of Rogue River and Scott (Laura) Austin of Gold Bar, Washington; a sister Donna Monk; two brothers Lauren Malloy and Dale Malloy all of Baxter, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Ken Hardwick in 1999.
She is deeply missed by her family.
Private interment was held at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
