Dean Grady Vorwick, age 79, of Grants Pass, passed away Monday, May 16, 2011 at Royale Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grants Pass, Oregon.
Mr. Vorwick was born August 11, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan.
During the Korean War he served in the United States Navy. He was very patriotic and loved his country.
He worked as a machinist and tool and die maker until he retired. He enjoyed working on his 1929 REO “Flying Cloud” that he spent many years customizing. He had a great sense of humor, loved attending church and weekly breakfast with his hot-rod buddies.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years “Michaela” of Grants Pass, four daughters, Heidi Vorwick of Pasa Robles, California, Gretchen Chapman of Cave Junction, Erica Corletto of Stevenson Ranch, California and Gabrielle Vorwick of Grants Pass; a son, Andrew Vorwick of Tujunga, California; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his son, “Todd” and a granddaughter “Hope” in 2004.
Private family services with military honors will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
