David Leroy Turpin, age 55, of Cave Junction, died Saturday, November 17, 2012 at his home.
Private services will be held. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati Ohio 45250-0301.
David was born July 30, 1957 in Van Nuys, California to Richard & Beverly Turpin, the youngest of six children. In 1974 when he was 17 years old he joined the United States Marine Corp and was very proud of the Marines! On June 4, 1977 in Laguna Hills, California he married his high school sweetheart, Patti Hollenbeck. In 1996 he moved from Canoga Park, California to Cave Junction to care for his mother and stepfather, Bob. David loved the Lord, saved by Jesus Christ.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, camping, gardening and NASCAR racing. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, Noah and Hana. He was a master of all trades and was always helping others!
Survivors include his former wife, Patti Kelly of Las Vegas, Nevada; a son, David Kelly of Las Vegas, Nevada; four sisters, Beth Jacob of Trenton, Missouri, Cathy Barnack of Oxnard, California, Nancy Dean of Cave Junction, Oregon and Dawn Hutchison of Trenton, Missouri; two grandchildren, Noah Kelly and Hana Kelly, both of Maple Valley, Washington.
Preceding him in death was a brother, Richard Allen Turpin III; his father, Richard Allen Turpin Jr and his mother Beverly C. Sharp.
