David Grant Morton Jr

David Grant Morton Jr, age 54, of Rogue River, died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at his home.

David was born February 12, 1958 in Hoopa, California. After graduating from high school in Eureka, California he enlisted and served in the United States Army 101st Airborne division. He then spent time traveling before returning to Eureka. In 1982 he moved to Anchorage, Alaska and worked in a warehouse for several years. On Thanksgiving Day 1987 in Anchorage he married Barbara Paffrath-Monico. In December 1987 he returned to Eureka and worked in local lumber mills. In 1991 he moved to Langlois, Oregon until 1993 when he moved to Pennsylvania where he lived and worked in lumber mills and for a tannery company until 2003. At that time he moved to Rogue River and worked for Diamond Home Improvement and at Best Western as a maintenance man.

David loved his children and his animals. He enjoyed learning history, reading, and spending time in the woods.

David is survived by his wife, Barbara Morton of Rogue River, Oregon; a daughter, Bridget Rae Morton of Rogue River, Oregon; three sons, David Morton and Audric Morton both of Rogue River, Oregon and Nicholas Monico fo Annapolis, Maryland; a sister, Sharon Franks of San Francisco, California; three brothers, Anthony Morton of Santa Cruz, California, Rick Bradberry of Eureka, California and Paco Witzke of Rogue River, Oregon; and three grandchildren.
