David Antone Dotts, age 78, of Grants Pass, died Friday, October 10, 2014 at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens in Grants Pass. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 17, 2014 at the First Christian Church, corner of 4th and H streets, with Pastor Wes Winn officiating.

He was born September 23, 1936 in San Diego, California to Harold and Nettie (Zezza) Dotts. On August 13, 1960 in Grants Pass he married the former Diane DuVal. David spent 25 years in the United States Navy Reserves and retired with the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class in 1980. He retired from the US Forest Service in 1997 as a Civic Engineer Tech.
He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and rock hounding. He spent the rest of his life as a loving grandfather and a farmer.
In addition to his wife, Diane Dotts of Grants Pass, he is survived by three sons, Mark Dotts and Timothy Dotts of Grants Pass, and Christopher Dotts of Las Vegas, Nevada; his daughter, Susie Huff of Grants Pass; a sister, Virginia Reed of Seattle, Washington; and nine grandchildren.
