Darren Ray Kuitert, age 44, of Gresham, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Providence Portland Medical Center.
A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Missouri Flat Cemetery with Pastor Greg Spires officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Darren was born February 6, 1967 in Grants Pass, Oregon to Jasper & Lanita Kuitert. He graduated from Washington Union High School in Easton, California and later Arizona Automotive Institute of Technology in Scottsdale, Arizona. For 23 years he was a journeyman plumber. He moved from Applegate to Portland 12 years ago. In 2010 Darren was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). He was taken from his family and friends too soon.
Darren’s favorite pastime was spending time with his children. He especially enjoyed taking them fishing, swimming and to Wildlife Safari in Winston. He also enjoyed hunting.
Survivors include four children, Victoria Kuitert, Jasper Kuitert, Emma-Lee Kuitert, and Ezekiel Kuitert; his mother, Lanita “Sunny” Kuitert of Applegate, Oregon a sister, Lori Barker of Applegate, Oregon; three brothers, Greg Kuitert of Riverside, California; and Scott Kuitert and Daniel Kuitert both of Medford, Oregon; and very special friends, Christy & Ken Cheshier.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jasper T. Kuitert.
