Darla Maria Cole, age 50, of Grants Pass, died Monday, December 10, 2007 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.
Darla was born to Margot (Peggy) & Cliff McIntire in 1957 in Burbank, California. She was raised in Sylmar and attended St. Ferdinand Elementary School. She began dancing at a very young age and by the time she was 14 years old, she and her mother owned and operated Roman’s Showcase Dance Studio in Granada Hills, California. Darla attended high school at Chaminade College Prep and graduated in 1975. After high school she spent the next 19 years teaching dance (tap, jazz, and voice) to her beloved students. In 1984 she married David L. Cole in a lavish wedding and two years later she gave birth to her daughter, Cassandra Maria. In 1994 Darla moved from the San Fernando Valley in California to beautiful Southern Oregon to enjoy the casual lifestyle and outdoors.
She loved singing, dancing, playing piano, the outdoors, her bird Petee, being with friends and family, and writing poetry.
Survivors include her daughter, Cassandra Cole of Ashland; her mother, Margot McIntire of Grants Pass; a brother, Guy McIntire of Orange County, California; and a nephew, Clifton McIntire of Bay Area, California. She was preceded in death by her father, Clifton Eugene McIntire.
Her beautiful smile, infectious laugh and glowing personality will always be missed.
We love you Miss Darla!
