Darcy M. Albertson, 58, a cherished member of our community and a beacon of kindness, passed away on September 2, 2024, in Cave Junction, OR. Born on October 5, 1965, in Los Angeles, CA, Darcy was the beloved daughter of Peggy and George Albertson, Jr., and dear sister of Danielle, Darren, and Christopher.
Darcy was a devoted animal lover who dedicated many years to working with Wildlife Images in Grants Pass, OR. She also had a passion for flowers, evident in her talent for floral design, and she delighted in creating beautiful arrangements for her friends' special events. Her caring nature was clear in her tireless efforts to support the homeless and those in need, including delivering food to the homes of folks without transportation. Her ability to see the best in people and stand up for those facing hardship made her a truly exceptional person.
A warm and generous spirit, Darcy and her daughter Savanna were actively involved in community events in Wolf Creek, OR, including the Easter parade and Halloween festivities. Her caring nature touched many lives, and she was often described as a rare gem by those who knew her.
In her free time, Darcy enjoyed being with her beloved dog, Peter, gold mining and taking walks with friends, where she delighted in collecting treasures like old bottles, twisty walking sticks, and jasper arrowheads along the way.
Darcy is survived by her mother, Peggy; her siblings, Danielle (Jim), Darren (Maria), and Christopher; her aunt Joanne; numerous cousins; many wonderful friends; and Peter, who will be lovingly cared for by her dear friends Jennifer and Mark.
She was preceded in death by her long-time partner, Gary; daughter, Savanna; her father, George, Jr.; her maternal and paternal grandparents, Marguerite and Clarence, and Winifred and George, Sr.; as well as her uncle Evan, aunt Charlene and cousin, Kathleen.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Darcy’s memory to Hearts with a Mission (https://heartswithamission.org/donate-3/), a southern Oregon charity serving at-risk youth and families, or a donation to your favorite homeless or animal charity.
A private memorial service celebrating Darcy’s life will be held in October. Her life was a testament to kindness and generosity, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Please share your memories of Darcy in her Guestbook.
