Daniel Grossbard of Grants Pass, Oregon passed away unexpectedly on July 16, 2014 at the age of 73.
Daniel was born and raised in New York City. As a young man, he majored in physics at Cornell University. He worked as a civilian employee of the US Navy and was a computer programmer. He was bitten by the theater bug in his early 30's. He moved to Ashland in 2002, finally settling in Grants Pass a couple of years later. Acting and directing were his passions and he was an integral part of the local theater scene, acting and directing at Barnstormers Theatre, RMT, OSF and The Old Time Radio Players. He was an avid bridge player, a member of Grants Pass Duplicate Bridge Club.
Daniel is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Neil and Marcia Grossbard, aunt and uncle Zona and Ed Mann, cousins Dorothy Giansiracusa, Paul Nelson and Jonathan Mann, their families and many friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Daniel at the Grants Pass Community Center on Saturday, September 20th at 2pm.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be given on his behalf to Barnstormers Theatre at 112 Evelyn Street, Grants Pass, OR 97526.
